Warning

This activity requires a needle and thread and I suggest that the adults are the only ones who use these.

Instructions

Cut out the net of a cube shown below, out of paper.

Stick  the square with the 1 and 4 holes at the end of the net to a piece of card then use needle and thread to puncture each of the holes.  Thread the holes together starting underneath hole 1, then down hole 2, up hole 3 and then down hole 4.  Tie the string together behind the card and you should have two parallel lines of thread across your net. Fold along the dotted lines (inwards), then pull and see the cube emerge.   If it has difficulty forming a crisp cube, make sure all the dotted lines have a crisp fold.
