MatheMagic is part of a UK Online 'hub', providing computer skills and internet training in York.
We can also provide informal basic skills support, adding a unique contribution to the overall project.
First Byte bus has 6 computers on it, equipped with working versions of commonly used software, training materials, a printer, scanner, digital stills and video cameras and the like. If you would like to know more about the bus, and the opportunities it may offer you, please contact Kay Watson our manager for this project
We have funding to teach communities and groups which are likely to have poor computer skills, but we plan to offer bespoke, on-site training to businesses as well. Training to communities that we are directly funded to support is free, for other community groups and businesses we have a sliding scale of charges that will enable us to extend our services to those most in need.
We are still adding to our timetable of activities, so now
is an excellent time to contact us if you would like us to work with you.
However, if you would like to come and use the ComputerBus, please feel free to
come and visit us at any of the following venues (subject to change during
Easter holiday):

This year's campaign will be launched on Saturday 21 June and will run until Friday 8 August 2003. This year there will be more emphasis than ever to attract people who have done no learning since they left school and then encourage them to go on to the 'next step'. This year, the Intros campaign is locally run and co-ordinated within North Yorkshire. The Learning Helpline, based in Bedale, will be fully involved, hold details of Intros and manage the booking system.
Call the Learning Helpline on 0800 515 547, or visit www.ynybitesize.co.uk

We currently take First Byte to all three Traveller sites in York, and have won a BT Lifelong Learning Award, in conjunction with City of York Library Service, for our work with young people. We also provide computer training for three groups of adults with learning difficulties, and operate drop-in sessions in the York area.
In order to help people spot us whilst we are out we
have a logo on the back and sides of the First Byte ComputerBus, and we will
shortly have an additional First Byte logo on the side doors. If you see us
around, please feel free to hop on board. Our logo looks like this:
